About the Shop

The Phab Shop opened in 2012 and has become a sustainable training centre by running like any other charity shop, taking in donations and selling on. But the main mission of the shop is to provide volunteering opportunities for people with disabilities and mental health difficulties. Most of our volunteers have experienced barriers which have impacted their confidence and working lives. The Phab Shop provides a relaxed and welcoming working environment to remove those barriers.

Finding a job is hard enough, but for people with disabilities the chances are even slimmer. This can be due to lack of training, experience and accessible spaces but also underlying harmful beliefs that someone with a disability or difficulty would be incapable of fulfilling the job role.

The Phab Shop gives our volunteers the opportunity to showcase their transferable skills which builds awareness and confidence.
